..i can't believe it's over...

After much worrying over having to deal with the Christmas season at work, I can't believe that it has already come and gone! This year I feel like I didn't really get a chance to enjoy it as much as I usually do. Normally I bake, decorate, shop and keep Christmas music blaring for almost the entire month of December. This year I did most of my shopping two days before the 25th, put up very few decorations, and only made one batch of cookies. I can only hope that next year I won't be as busy at work, so that I can make time to enjoy the season the way I always have.

I hope everyone has a very safe and Happy New year!

200 of the little suckers..

Have you ever been asked to do something, and you agree.. then when it comes time you wonder, "Why in the world did I say yes to that?!" I asked myself that same question last weekend. The Art Society in my area was holding their annual "Trees of Christmas" celebration kick-off reception. A lady I know (who just happened to know that I bake) asked if I would mind doing a dessert for the party. I said, "Sure!" thinking I could get away with maybe making a cheesecake... at least that's what I thought until she told me that they invited 600 people!!! *gasp*

After much idea-tossing and recipe flipping, I decided to do 200 sample-sized portions of my Butter Cake with White Chocolate Ganache. They turned out to be a hit, and I got a lot of compliments... but I would be lying if I said I wasn't working right down until the very last minute I had. I was so busy, I only had time to snap a 'BEFORE' picture of the cake squares before they even got assembled or iced. So here is a quick pic of my little cakes patiently waiting to be finished.

On the up side, we did have the biggest turn out ever, and I was the only one who made enough cake to last longer than an hour :)

Friday already!

And the randomly selected winner of the mini stamp RAK is.... scappinnut aka Karen! She tried several times to post a comment on here but it never would let her. So she emailed me with her favorite ornament instead. Here is the comment she tried to leave:

"It would be way to hard for me to pick my favorite. My kids have made so many ornaments while they were growing up. I treasure each and every one of them. I love these so much more than any of the store bought ones. I also love the special year ornaments, our first year as a married couple, and the baby's first ornament for each of my kids, but even as much as I love these, the ones my kids made are still my favorites."

Please email me with your addy so I can get these out :) So... who wants another RAK? :) I have some cute little Christmas ornament stickers by Jolee that I know someone would like to have :)
Just leave a comment in this thread, and I will randomly select a winner on Sunday the 9th. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

'Tis the season...

of giving... so it's RAK time! Leave me a comment describing your favorite Christmas ornament. Mine is this cute little pine cone-body, dangly-leg moose that my husband bought me last year. From all posts I will randomly select one winner on Friday. Winner will receive this six pack of mini Christmas stamps, which includes a wreath, reindeer, Santa, stocking, angel, and a Christmas light!

Happy posting! :)

Happy December!

Where has the year gone? My December started with a 4am wake up call to get hubby off to work.. not that it matters that I'm up that early because I have to be in at 5:30.

So.. only 23 more shopping days left... everyone ready?! :)
