..quickie card..

Here is a quick little friendship card I made using just 4 things!

*White cardstock
*Black journaling pen
*Corner rounder punch

The { sign is a Studio G stamp, and the mushroom stamps are a Harley Dee original :) I'm hoping to get some small notebooks made up with my stamp designs to sell on Etsy soon!

Hope everyone is having a great Hump Day! :)

..monday fun..

Today has been TIRING! There's this little old lady that lives nearby who has come to the point where she can't do much gardening anymore. But she LOVES her some flowers. So she offered to hire me to do some work in her yard. I don't think I will be able to walk tomorrow, seriously..

I spent 4 hours in ONE flower bed. *ACK* But it's ok, because she's nice and she feeds me lunch :)

Anyway, I worked for today and also last Saturday. And since sudden showers decided to pop up on me today, I'm gonna have to go back tomorrow to finish. All that to say I haven't been scrappy the last couple of days. I wanted to, and I have stuff laid out. But sore muscles won out over good intentions :)

I will, however, leave you with some really cool stuff to look at.

*Check out this super cute Bird Wreath at Pink Paislee.

*Lookie lookie at this beautiful patriotic layout that's so pretty because of the muted colors.

*DIY Vinyl Tile Art.. that just sounds cool :)

*Use your Themed Paper Challenge over at AMR!

*And Chris pointed me to this free Scrapbook & Cards magazine!

Maybe that will keep ya'll busy until I can get some scrappin' done :D

Friday, June 20, 2008 love..

I was finally able to get my hands on some Cosmo Cricket paper. I love the stuff but I can't get it around here. I put in a request a few weeks ago to my LSS to see if she could order some, and, well, I managed to procure about 12 random papers :) I don't care, I'm just happy to have some. So happy in fact, I got home and had to scrap! In between loads of laundry and rummaging up some dinner I got two layouts done, and I love them! :)

And I have more left to play with tomorrow! :)

..home grown..

I know I've been a bad blogger.. let me show you what has been keeping me outside for the past few days :)

Some of the blackberries I've picked are huge! I can't wait until I get enough to make some cobbler and some blackberry jam :)

..yum yum..

Well I promise I'm working on scrappy stuff, lol. And we've been trying to decide on a stain for our new entertainment center. Plus with company for a couple of days and some other random stuff that needed to get done around here, scrapping hasn't had much of a place the last few days. But I am working on stuff, its just that nothing is finished yet :)

Anyway, I wanted to share a recipe that I tried out the other day. It's from my newest Cooking Light magazine and it is YUM! I got some fresh blueberries from the market and was going to make a pie, but then I saw this recipe for Blueberry Bread Pudding and I couldn't resist. It came out sooooo good :)

Blueberry Bread Pudding
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. butter
2 tbs light-colored corn syrup
Cooking Spray
2 c. blueberries
1 (16 oz) loaf Italian bread
1 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. salt
5 large eggs

*Combine the first 3 ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-high heat; cook for 2 minutes or until butter melts and sugar dissolves, stirring frequently. Pour sugar mixture into a 13x9-inch baking pan coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle evenly with blueberries.

*Remove crust from bread. Cut bread into 1" thick slices. Arrange bread slices on top of blueberries.

*Combine milk, vanilla, salt and eggs in a large bowl, stirring with a whisk until frothy. Pour milk mixture over bread. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.

*Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

*Uncover pan; let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.

*Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes or until browned.

At this point the recipe says to place a large dish over the baking pan and invert the bread pudding onto the dish. I just left mine in the glass baking pan and serve out of it. I sprinkle mine with powdered sugar. If you try it, let me know what you think!
