..big girls..

I feel like I have 3 yr. olds instead of 18-month olds. We took down the cribs! No more cribs, that sounds so sad! I mean, I know it's an exciting time, and just another milestone. But they're really not babies anymore. And it seems like they didn't spend enough time in them, lol. That's only because they slept next to my bed until they were almost 7 months old, due to them being so little, and also due a little bit to me being kinda attached to them :D

At the moment they are just sleeping on mattresses on their floor. Their cribs do convert to a daybed, but my kids are SQUIRMERS! They flip and flop all over the place at night (they get that from their daddy) and no daybed, even with a little rail would hold them. They would find a way to fall off. So, I guess we'll stick to mattresses, unless maybe we go with those little plastic beds that just sit on the floor. They'll still fall out, but at least it won't be far. Who knows.. The only bad thing about no cribs is that it takes them longer to actually go to sleep. They can get up and play at will, so we're trying to get used to that. I laid them down about an hour ago and I can hear them on the monitor, walking around and roaring like a lion. Ahh, toddlerhood :)

..2012 approaches..

 Hard to believe it's almost the end of 2011. My holiday break is coming to an end. The bakery was so incredibly busy these last two weeks. One day we even sold 36 dozen cupcakes before lunch! That's a lotta frosting! :) But the holidays have been great, and it was wonderful getting to spend it all with J and the girls. They had lots of fun this year, actually getting to open their own present, and getting their first visit from Santa.

So what does 2012 hold for the blog? Well, I have lots of new reviews and giveaways coming up, so make sure you're subscribed so you won't miss anything. Also, there will be more projects and recipes, as one of my resolutions is to take more time for myself, and do what I like to do! :)

That's what it felt like when 'tired' hit me today. Not really sure why. I slept a decent amount last night, unless it wasn't good sleep. Not sure.. But today I have been so draggy. I meant to do lots of housework today. Nope.

Tiredness could be a result of chasing two pretty, spunky, wild little girls all over the place. Preventing paper eating, toy stealing, water spilling and sock hiding. And it couldn't be better kind of tired :)

There in the sand!! :) We're on vacation in Destin at the moment, and we're all loving it. Yes, I actually took a vacation from the shop. I had to, I needed a break!

So that means it's time for super cute beach photos :)

Cute baby picture alert!

4 months old already, seriously? Both girls are rolling over, laughing out loud and eating cereal out of a spoon! We moved up into size 2 diapers, and I almost had a crying spell. It's going by too fast!

Piper loves to be on her belly. She also discovered that she can blow raspberries, so she does it all of the time. At the moment (and I'm sure this will change) she seems to be my more independent one.

Layla is my talker. She yells out loud, which makes her laugh at herself too. She loves to hold onto you while you're holding her. She might be a momma's girl :)

They both love to watch tv, especially Sesame Street. They laugh when Elmo comes on :) So, now I'm just trying to come up with some way to keep them this size forever... *sigh*

..snow babies!..

So did anyone else get hit by that crazy weather last week? We ended up with 12" of snow! I read that it hasn't snowed like that here since 1936. That's crazy! Even though they won't remember it, I think it's neat that the girls were around for it. J and I made a snowman while the girls took a nap. When they woke up, we got them all bundled and headed outside. I thought they might freak out, but they stayed surprisingly quiet. They just kept looking at all of the white around them :)

Check 'em out. Even though their little snuggly bear suits were a little too big, they're still terribly adorable :)
