..happy halloween!..

It's the big day, and even though I'm not dressing up this year, I'm really excited. J and I have never been home on Halloween in the two years that we've been living here. So I don't even know if any kids will come knocking on our door. But I'm excited to find out :) Here's a pic of our Jack-o-lantern, all ready and waiting!

I told J I wanted him to hide in the bushes by our front porch and scare kids when they came up. We're so mean :D

I'll tell you who's NOT mean though, and that's my buddy Beth. She had my name for the "Hot Drinks for Hot Mamas" Apron Swap, and MAN ALIVE did she come through! She knew that I liked coffee, and she knew that I liked turquoise. So what did she do? Found some turquoise coffee fabric! Check out this awesome apron..

I love it. And look at this spiffy coffee wallet she made me too!

It has places to hold your individual coffee or tea bags. Perfect for me to take when I teach! She's selling them in her Etsy shop too, go have a look.

And that's not all.. she sent me a great Coffee Book, some cute magnets, a tea towel, a bag of Peet's Coffee, and a magazine that Peet's was listed in as one of the Top 9 Best Coffees! Thank you so much Beth, I love everything!!

And I did manage to get one crafty thing done today. I got my stocking made for a Handmade Stocking Swap I'm in on Swap-Bot. I went a little non-traditional with my fabric choice. I hope my partner likes it!

Ok, enough for today. J is yelling from the other room that he's hungry. I made a yummy Enchilada casserole last night and (to my surprise) he wants leftovers :)

Happy Halloween everyone!!

..pumpkin patch..

J and I finally got to go to the pumpkin patch yesterday. I was so excited because he's never been to one before. It wasn't as full as it would have been if we had gone at the beginning of the month, but they still had a lot of pumpkins and mums left.

They had these wagons to haul your pumpkins on, and J said, "Hop on, I wanna pull you!" So I did. See my feet? :) He pulled me down to the field :)

Here we are, looking all cute :)

And here is the whopper we brought home. It weighs 58 pounds!! J was so proud... he said it was manly :D

I'll have carving pictures for you tomorrow :D

..hear ye, hear ye, lords and ladies..

Every year at the end of October, our city turns our downtown park into 16th century medieval Europe for the Renaissance Faire. It's so much fun! Vendors come and set up booths, food mongers sell giant roasted turkey legs, and there's this one blue troll that will sneak around and put things in your pockets when you least expect it. Mom and I went Saturday.

This little pink fairy was just too cute. I told her that her candy looked like a pink fairy wand :)

And of course, there are belly dancers. Look, she has a tail!! :D

This guy was playing water glasses. He was so good, he was taking requests :D

Here we have the cutest little pirate ever. He was making some pretty big bubbles.

And this big, scary knight would walk around, hammer in hand.. I kept daring mom to go open his helmet :D

And here is me and my momma.. in matching shirts. Totally unplanned, that's just how cool we are :D We were covered in powdered sugar from that funnel cake, but man was it good.

It was a really fun day. I came home with a big bag of roasted peanuts. It's one of the reasons I go every year :)

Now I'm going to see if I can get J to take me to the pumpkin patch. 6 days until Halloween, and we still haven't carved a jack-o-lantern, can you believe it?!

Peace, love and koala fuzz y'all!

..coffee anyone?..

I finished my apron for the Hot Drinks for Hot Mamas Apron Swap. My partner said she likes coffee and tea, so this is appropriate for both. I really hope she likes it :) I spent about 3 hours total just doing the embroidery on it. But I really like how it turned out.

I hope she doesn't feel the white is too boring. I really wanted the pot and cups to stand out :) So this little guy will be on his way to a new home soon!

..spooked..

I know I'm 2 days late on revealing the winner of my Halloween mini. We had quite an ordeal around here on Monday. We have two kitties.. their pictures are up in my Header. You have to understand, these girls are like my children. Well, Pogue (the gray one) came wandering up the other day (they stay inside and out) and she was limping on her front foot. We thought it was broken.. even felt broken. Well that was Sunday night. The vet couldn't get us in until yesterday, so we had to play nurse with a sick kitty for two days. Fortunately, it wasn't broken. She had gotten bit by either a squirrel or another cat, and it had gotten infected. So she got some antibiotics and some pain meds. Now she's mad because she can't go outside and roam for a whole week.

Anyway, all of that to get to the good stuff. The winner of the Halloween mini is...

June said...

Plans are to go out trick n treatin w/the DGKs and take lots of pics so I can scrap them...such a cute album...pic me me me...

Congrats June!

And I have a couple of finished projects to post later, after I get biscuits out of the oven :) See you soon!

Peace, love and koala fuzz y'all!

..ooh, ooh witchy woman..

I'm totally getting into the Halloween spirit!! I don't even know if we will get any Trick or Treaters, because we've only been in this house for two years, and I wasn't home for Halloween either year. But I will be prepared anyway!! :D

Ooh, Tiffany sent me the BEST Autumn Goody Swap package. We're talking the cutest personalized Halloween cards, a great smelling candle in a ceramic pumpkin, Kit Kats, and a WHOLE bag of Peanut M&Ms. Hmm, where can I hide the bag so J won't find them? Mwahaha!

And she also sent me this totally rockin' bat ring..

Isn't it awesome?! I swear, I'm wearing it every day until Halloween. Thanks Tiffany, you're super rad!

And here is a pic of my rag quilt. It still needs to be washed and dried again for the "ragginess" to really look the best. But dang, utilities aren't cheap! :D

That's all I've got for tonight..

Peace, love and koala fuzz y'all!

.. oct. 1 + 100..

Today marks the start of my most favorite month of the year. And, this also makes my 100th post! I just had to wait until today to make it. It's taken me almost a year to get to 100, but here it is! So, of course, I have to do a giveaway, right? :) Keep reading, the info for that will be at the end of the post :)

So since I blogged last, I had a family reunion, my niece's 11th birthday party, had to sub a couple of days, and got started on my fall rag quilt. Here is the fabric for it..

Those little crows are what started this whole thing.. They're just so cute :)

And here's me and my dad at the reunion..

See his shirt? Anyone still wondering why I'm named Harley? :D

Ooh, and check out what I'll be participating in..

It's going to be a fabulous blog-hopping Halloween party! You can join in the fun too, just visit A Fanciful Twist, and find out how. It's going to be Spooktacular!!! (Oh man, I'm SO glad it's Halloween season!!!) So make sure you visit me here, and visit Vanessa at A Fanciful Twist for all kinds of batty fun. Check out her blog anyway, she is wicked talented, and very inspiring!

**Still with me? :) I'll get to the good stuff then. 100 posts means I have to do a giveaway. And I won't make it hard on you :) Between now and October 7th, leaving a comment on one of my posts will get you an entry. That starts today, with this post, so here is opportunity #1. I don't know how many more posts I will make between now and Oct. 7th, but it will at least be a couple more.

Now, for extra opportunities.. Tell your friends I'm having a giveaway. When they come post, if they tell me you sent them, you'll get an extra entry. They will also get entered for leaving comments on my posts. So the more friends you tell about me, the more chances you'll get.

On Oct. 7th I'll randomly draw a name to receive some Halloween treats, and maybe a couple of tricks too!

Peace, love and koala fuzz y'all!
