..the big 3-0!..
Today is my hubby's 30th birthday! I can't believe it.. he was 20 when we met and started dating. I'm so happy that I have been able to "grow up" with him :) I threw him a little party last night.. nothing major, just invited over some friends he hasn't seen in a while. We had a blast! His parents brought over their Wii, so check out these pics of Jeff and his dad Wii skiing! :D
It was hilarious :D Everyone had a competition going to see who could have the longest ski jump. And before I show you his cake, you gotta know the story behind it.. Red velvet cake is his favorite. I make it for him every year. But a couple of weeks ago he said, "Why don't I get a special cake?" Soo... this is what he got :)
You also have to know that spaghetti is his 2nd favorite meal. (2nd to BBQ, but I couldn't see me doing that out of cake, lol) So it was red velvet cake, cream cheese icing, fondant meatballs, and some strawberry jam thinned down for the sauce. He thought it was cool.. my old man got his special cake :)

..the snotty kids caught up with me..
I substitute teach a couple of days a week to try and compensate for my expensive crafting habit.. Well last week I had a small Pre-K class, and I was wiping noses ALL day long. I tried not to get too close, but it's hard when they are so cute and they just want you to hold their hand while you sing during Circle Time. Since then I've been popping vitamin C and hoping that I wouldn't get sick..
*sigh*
Vitamin C just can't compete with a snotty kid. I woke up today with an awful head cold. I'm stuffy, runny, and achy. I really wanted to just lay around, but I managed to do a load of clothes, and create one crafty thing. I had to create.. it makes me feel better. So I sewed...
I made this cute checkbook cover for a partner on SwapBot. I'm really liking some purple right now. I mean I've always liked it, but the last couple of shirts I've bought have been purple. The floral is a vintage fabric I found at a yard sale. The yo-yos and the inside are just a light purple cotton. I really like how it turned out. I love making yo-yos, and sometimes I have to remind myself that you can't put 30 of them on one project, lol :) If you didn't want to use it as a checkbook cover, you could also use it as a coupon holder.

Thursday-Scraplift Challenge(Hayatiggs-Harley)
Friday-Individual Challenge Team members challenge
The Friday challenges are for the challenge team to throw out challenges for layouts or projects you may have wanted to complete but haven't had that push to do so!
PLUS, there is a chance for you to win a fab prize from AMR weekly thanks to random.org!
Friday’s challenges will be posted by the challenge team on a rotating basis. Each winner will be announced on the following Friday. These challenges will sometimes include little mini tutorials that will make participating in the challenge a little easier or educational.
The daily challenges are easy and doable! They will be challenges that you think...hey, I can do that!!!
The goal is you play along with the challenges M-TH...complete layouts...get them in your album....and maybe come out the other side of the year a QUEEN!(there will be 4 queens) Now keep in mind...you don't have to be the most amazing scrapper...you just have to nail the challenge(meaning-follow all the directions-that's it...that simple!). Winners will be chosen each week for the M-Th challenges by the challenge team. You will be crowned princess for that week. The person crowned princess most weeks in the year for each of the four challenges will be crowned QUEEN of that challenge at next year’s anniversary crop!
Princess honors:
Your layout will be placed in the flickr royal gallery, you will receive kudos in the winners thread, and you will be able to attend the weekly happy hour at headquarters with the “staff” wink wink wink, also...cutepumpkin is working on a blinkie for the princesses!
Here's what it means to be a Princess or Queen:
Queen honors:
You will be crowned during opening ceremonies at next year’s anniversary crop, you will receive a prize and a crown from AMR, you will receive a Queen blinkie (thanks to cutepumpkin!) and carry the title of queen through the next year where you will attempt to reign supreme!
So, like I said, it starts today.. come see Monday's Challenge, it's a fabulous one! :)

..it's that lemony scent that gets ya..
If you have never taken a stroll around Joy the Baker's blog to look at all of the yummy things she cooks, then you should... but not when you're hungry, because you'll want to make everything. Man oh man did I start drooling when I found the recipe for her Lemon Drenched Lemon Cakes. For some reason they just called out to me. I mean, like I *had* to make them last night. They are soooo beyond good. I gave 1 of them away because I knew if I didn't, I would eat them both by myself before J got home tonight. And they're really easy to make with not a lot of ingredients. And I had everything to make them already.. So Joy, oven mitts off to you girl.
So did anyone else cry at Biggest Loser last night? Or am I just a big ol' sappy face. Because I cried. I wasn't crying when Bob started yelling in the gym though, that was pretty funny :) I think I smell some lemony goodness calling my name from the kitchen.. I knew that citrus would cause trouble.
Peace, love and koala fuzz y'all! :)

..ahh..
What do I do on a quiet day when J has gone to work? Laundry? Pffft... Dishes? I don't think so.. Did I hear someone say craft?! Well that's right :D I finally got some new stick pins added to my Etsy shop. They're very Valentine inspired :)
They look like candy, I just wanna eat 'em! :D There's more than that too, some not-so-Valentine stuff like mushrooms and some produce.
Know what else made my day? The fact that I have a great friend like Miss A who gave me this cool Friendship Award.
Thank you so much dear.. being your friend makes my days more sparkly! :D
Now it's time to grab some of my grandmother's chili, a cold Mountain Dew and settle in front of the tv to watch some House and some Real Chance of Love. Hello, my name is Harley, and I am a VH1 Reality Show addict. Tee hee :)

..no more lost keys!..
I just added some new Key Fobs into my Etsy store. They are oh-so-handy! Err, or should I say, wristy!! :D These are great if you have your hands full with groceries, kids, or anything. Just slip your keys on your wrist, and then you don't have to dig for them or hold on to them when you get to the door! :)
And a big thank you to the super cute, always fabulous Jennifer (aka Jingle) for featuring me on her blog today! Thanks so much Jing!!

..huge crop people, huge..
I'm taking this info straight from Jessica's blog, because she has such a way with words :)
Come celebrate the 1 year anniversary of All Moments Remembered!!!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
January 9-10, 2009
Hey gals, this is going to be a BIG, FUN-FILLED crop to celebrate the 1 year Anniversary of the AMR Message Board. The schedule is designed to please our "late night girlz" as well as our "early bird girlz", the west coast, the east coast, and everyone in between!
Jessica will be the Crop Host during most of the event, with Stacey and others filling in to Host too. We will have some activities & AMR challenges posted during the most "awake" times for everyone -- and those activities and challenges (once posted) will be available for the rest of the crop so you won't feel like you'll miss anything! Post away if you have any questions!
Schedule (Pacific Time):
Friday -- 6pm -12am
Saturday -- 9am-9pm
Schedule (Mountain Time):
Friday -- 7pm-1am
Saturday -- 10am-10pm
Schedule (Central Time):
Friday -- 8pm-2am
Saturday -- 11am-11pm
Schedule (Eastern Time):
Friday -- 9pm-3am
Saturday -- 12pm-12am
UPDATE #2
4 Fun Classes -- will be sprinkled thru the schedule, and each Class will have a Challenge. You'll have until Thursday, Jan. 15 to submit your entry to the challenge post to be in the RAK drawing for that Class. I'll have a final schedule and Crop Supply List up this Friday, Dec. 19.
Member Challenges -- everyone loves this, so let's keep going! If you want to submit a challenge, you're welcome to run it by me first or just hold it until the Crop and post it in the Crop Forum. If there's anything really specific you think people need to know about beforehand, please send me a PM by Friday Dec. 19 and I'll include it in the Crop Supply List.
Crop Hours -- Jessica picked these hours to appeal to both West Coast and East Coast croppers, the early birds and the late nighters -- a little something that fits somewhere in almost everyone's schedule! Whoever wants to come into the Crop Forum earlier than the scheduled hours, you're welcome to do so! There just won't be any scheduled activities or AMR Hosts ... but YOU can just jump in and be your own host and even post your own challenges or giveaways if you want to get the ball rolling! I think everyone loves it when we can be flexible and just hang loose, so have at it!
UPDATE #3 -- CROP SUPPLY LIST!
I wanted to give everyone a heads-up so you've got plenty of time to gather what you might need! Here's what we have on tap!
Kelli's Class: "Inchie Card" -- this is so cute, you're going to love it!
Laura's Class: Mini Badge Album -- she has a lot of clever ideas on how to use this adorable mini! Seems like a lot of supplies, but it's just that she's thorough, so don't panic!
Anne Marie's Class: 2009 Goals/Dreams Layout -- I may not be the most creative person in the world, but I'm organized like no one's business, LOL! So I thought I'd guide you through capturing your goals & dreams for the new year in a layout!
Samantha's Class: Black Soot Stamping technique -- YES! Sam is coming back! Some of you may have seen an example of this technique on her blog. She's going to take us step-by-step. I can't wait!
Important Crop Supply Note -- If you DON'T have the supplies and can't get them.... PLEASE DON'T SWEAT IT! Life is too short. Just jump right in and I'm sure between you, me, the class leader, and the other 500 women on this board we can think of all sorts of substitutions, LOL!
Thanks to Jessica and Anne Marie for this info. I hope to see lots of you at the crop!! :D

..sooo tired..
I've spent the last 3 days sitting in airports. I always try to go to work with my hubby for New Year's. It's sort of like we end the old year and start the new one together. Kinda sappy, but it's our thing. Anyway, you may not think just sitting around, waiting on flights would wear you out, but it does! I just got home, and even though it's only 5pm, I wanna go to bed :) We had to get up early this morning for him to catch his flight. We didn't make it until midnight last night, but we did make it until 11pm. I told him that was good enough since it was technically the new year in the US. Thank you Eastern time zone!! :D
So I have some projects to do, and some new stuff to list in my store tonight or in the morning, so keep an eye out. Until then, I'm gonna go veg out.
I hope you all have a wonderful New Year!!! :D
Peace, love and koala hugs y'all!
