..end of an era..

I officially feel old... my baby sister (8 years younger than me) graduated high school tonight. It was such a wonderful ceremony. There was only 22 in her graduating class, so every single one of them were friends, and with all of the emotions running crazy, you could tell how much everyone would miss each other. My little sister cried from the moment they walked out until well after it was over :) I did manage to get some shots that weren't as red-puffy-eyed as the rest. So I have a brother that will turn 20 in a few months, and a sister that just graduated high school... I feel old. Only because I helped raise these kids. I mean, from the time they were babies, it was just me and mom. I've watched them grow and change into the wonderful young adults that they are, and I can't help but be proud.. *sniff*

I'm not gonna cry...

So, with an excuse to make something, I took inspiration from my photo below and made some graduation cards. This one was for my sister, made with Pink Paislee paper, Thickers, Studio G stamps & my new bottle of Diamond Stickles. The centers of the flowers are rhinestone and felted brads, and that little butterfly is a stamped image on some wire that hubby gave me :)

This next one is for my only girl cousin Sarah, who also graduated tonight. It is made with more Pink Paislee paper, some ribbon from the Target dollar spot, Thickers & Stickles.

This last card was made one of my sister's friends who I think alot of. She is such a sweet girl and I had to make her a card too. It was a quickie made with Making Memories paper, scallop punch and yet another Thicker :)

If you haven't yet, take a look at the post underneath this one. You still have lots of time left to get your entries in for the giveaway!

  6. I can totally identify with your feelings for a different reason...my SON graduated yesterday also. Our 1st child (of 3) to walk that stage...and I could remember doing it myself like it was yesterday. Congrats to you and your sis! Love the work you did on the cards.
