And I wish it was for fun reasons :( So, yesterday morning I wake up a couple of hours before my alarm goes off for church, and I'm feeling a little stiff. "You're just still asleep and not thinking clearly," I convince myself. 8am, alarm clock goes off. I try to sit up, and I can't. I try to roll over, and I can't. At some point during the night, my back went out. Unfortunately for me, Jeff was gone to work. His back had been hurting a couple of nights before, and he still had the heating pad on his side of the bed, fortunately still plugged in. I managed to hook a toe around the cord and pull it up on the bed with me. (Yes, just picture it. Me on my back, with one leg sticking off the side of the bed, feeling around for a cord. Had I been videotaped, we could have won $25,000 on America's Funniest Home Videos.)
I am not even kidding when I say I spent ALL day yesterday in bed. It was so bad that my mom brought me food. I felt so helpless and pitiful. Jeff got home last night, and his back is hurting today. So we're pretty sure it's the mattress. We're gonna try flipping it tonight, and see if that helps. If not, I guess we're gonna have to ask Santa for a new one, because we can't afford it right now. I have a guest bed, but it's a twin. Although Jeff and I did spend the first 3 months of married life sleeping together on it. I have no idea HOW we did it, but we did it :)

ReplyDeleteOh poor baby!! i hope your backs gets better soon. I can't imagine not being able to move like that. Try to get a good nights sleep. :)
ReplyDeleteHarley, I highly recommend checking out Overstock.com for temper foam toppers! We did that a couple of years ago and it was the best thing we ever did! We wanted to get a new mattress, but they are SO expensive, so we got a topper (I think ours is 3inches) for around $60 and it came with temper foam pillows, too! We LOVE that thing! It makes a HUGE difference! You still need to flip and rotate your mattress, but the foam helps so much! Ours is Sealy, I think...although, they have a few brands to choose from usually. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteyou poor thing. it is time for santa to make a stop at your place. i hope you are feeling better now.
ReplyDeletep.s. thanks for the comments on the bellie clothes i made. :)
Sorry about your back. Jingle is right, try out one of the temper foam toppers. My sis-in-law has one and we slept in her bed during our last visit. I haven't slept that good in years!
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks for being a part of the scavenger hunt :)
That's a terrible feeling when you can't do anything due to a hurting back--I feel your pain :(
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better!
This is my first visit to your blog and I have to say, I think you have the cutest header EVER! Good luck on the mattress front!
ReplyDeleteBad backs from poor mattresses are the pits. Hope this all works out for you.
ReplyDeleteMan... I tell you, when your back hurts EVERYTHING hurts, too. I feel for you, my friend.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the mattress search.
What a bummer about your back. I hope you're feeling much better soon. I have to say, I don't where I know you from (probably Etsy) but I know your face from the net...Good to see you ~ for some reason, I got a warm fuzzy when I saw your blog! I'm wierd & rambling now so I'll leave now. lol ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for being in the Hunt!
ReplyDeleteI hope you figure something out soon. That sure can't be fun!! If you have a Denver Mattress around you they have some very good prices on some excellent mattresses.
ReplyDeleteOoh, so sorry about your back(s)! We bought a sleep number bed -- well worth the money. My DH loves a very soft mattress; I like it pretty firm, and having those dual controls has been a marriage saver!
